Musical Monday's Bulletin 1

Number 1 of a series of weekly bulletins, introducing the varied ways of music-making and tutors that will be available to you as part of Musical Monday at the Church Hall.

Musical Monday is a Running with Zithers project, supported by Birregurra Community Arts Group, therefore our first bulletin features Angie Smales and the Chord Zither.

Angie has been involved with Chord Zithers for more than 5 years now and has enjoyed spreading her love of this, the most easily approachable instrument.
A Chord Zither can be played by anyone, using the special tune-sheets designed for the instrument. This makes playing the Chord Zither satisfying, relaxing and enjoyable.

During Musical Monday at the Church Hall, Angie will continue to hold her zither groups. Zither Groups are casual gatherings of zither lovers, playing together using the tune-sheets transcribed by Angie.

Available are afternoons between 2pm to 3:30pm & evenings between 7pm to 8:30pm. Afternoons and evenings alternate weekly and we start with a daytime group on the 1st of February, followed with a evening group on the 8th of February.
Bring you own zither or borrow one of Angie's growing number of zithers.
Zither Group attendance is $10, includes a cuppa and tune-sheets will be available for purchase.

New to Musical Monday, will be one-on-one Zither lessons, using chromatic chord zithers. You will be learning to play the zither without tune-sheets, learning to read and write music, enabling you to write your own tune-sheets for a zither.
The cost of these 30 minute private lessons are $30.
The music theory component of these lessons follow the AMEB syllabus and the sitting of the AMEB examinations is optional.
